Welcome

my name is Christian and I am an Assistant Professor (Akademischer Rat a. P.) at the Chair of Multilingual Computational Linguistics, University of Passau, Germany.

My research revolves around the application of information-theoretic methods to measure the diversity of human languages, and compare them to other semiotic systems. I am currently PI of the ERC Starting Grant "The Evolution of Visual Information Encoding" (EVINE).

Interests: historical language change, language evolution, quantitative typology, computational linguistics, corpus linguistics
